Tim Tebow is betrayed

All these years, I had always held a positive view of John Elway, aside from maybe when he played my Patriots. Certainly never had a reason to dislike the man. Until now. Elway must have had held some sort of personal grudge against Tim Tebow – and was certainly very eager to unload him quickly & cheaply – to have shipped him off to the most dysfunctional franchise in the NFL in return for a mere fourth-round draft pick. What an extremely loutish thing to do. For crying out loud, that franchise doesn’t even have a clue as to what to do with the poor guy, committed as they are to their useless pretty boy Sanchez. Already, one of the Jets players has made it known to the world that Tebow isn’t wanted in the locker room. Another sad thing about all this is that it may end up serving to tarnish Peyton Manning’s reputation, and he doesn’t deserve that. Tebow may be all about class, doing the right thing, etc., but I won’t hold it against him if he shows a little selfishness for once and declares he will not play for that classless goon squad …

UPDATE: The deal to the Jets has apparently fallen through. Good news. To be clear, I was not necessarily suggesting Elway shouldn’t have dealt Tebow, but not to the Jets, for crying out loud. And not for a fourth-round pick. They could get better value for him than that, I’m certain.

SECOND UPDATE: As of about 1 a.m. on Thursday night, ESPN reported that Tebow to the Jets was a done deal, after all. Sinful. Now he’s going to be playing for a foul-mouthed neanderthal. Meanwhile, the stupid Jacksonville Jaguars failed to sweeten the pot. That’s a franchise on its way to LA, no intention of staying. They needed Tebow to sell tickets. Just absolutely sinful.
