Turning Japanese, yes we’re turning Japanese, I really think so: Kindergarten kids now being prepped for college

Kindergartners are now receiving standardized testing. Among the goals is to identify those students who are ‘college bound,’ and to grasp their social skills. So many things wrong with this, I don’t know where to begin. Schools are really overstepping their bounds. How is it even possible to tell if a five-year-old is ‘college bound?’ Kindergarten is about instilling a love of learning in small children. Let them play, let them have fun, let them grow at a natural pace, and stop worrying so much about keeping up with the Japanese and other countries. Why do Americans always have to be made to feel as though they are in competition with the rest of the world? We are an exceptional nation, above all others. Or, at least we were. The answer to reforming our public schools is bring God back into them. I really do think it’s as simple as that …
